In the workshop you will learn the art of whittling - the practice of shaping wood with a carving knife, chip by chip. You will have your choice of a bird or fish to carve. I will cover knife safety, hand positioning, and carving techniques to help you carve confidently and comfortably.
Each participant will receive attentive instruction in a small group setting, ensuring you feel supported throughout the process.
*Note: Whittling can be hard on the hands. We’ll support all ability levels with breaks and adaptable techniques.
We will be a small group hosted in the Exchange at 125 Adelaide Street on the 3rd floor. If you have limited mobility but can make it up a few stairs to the landing, we can bring the elevator down for you.
