At her center is an onyx gemstone, set into the forehead. This stone once lived in a ring worn by my great aunt—a woman whose quiet strength shaped the way I move through the world. When I changed my name, I took hers as my middle name. Setting this piece of her into this sculpture was an act of gratitude and grounding.
